Notification of Policy Change for Missed Appointments
Beginning on August 15, 2024, we will charge clients $100 for missed sessions and for sessions cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours from their start time. If DPC’s contract with your insurer does not allow such charges, we will not charge them to you or your insurer. If your insurer allows no-show charges, we will charge them to you.
There will be no charge if you cancel or reschedule a session more than 24 hours before the start time of your session via 1) a message to your psychologist on the DPC portal, 2) a telephone message at 218-722-2005, or 3) an email to your psychologist at an address that your psychologist has previously used to communicate with you.
We encourage you to discuss this policy, and any charge you might incur, with your psychologist. You can appeal a charge to the owners of DPC (named below). These appeals should be made in writing and include your reasons for appealing the charge. A client of one of the owners can appeal to the other owner.
If you have questions about your insurance coverage for any mental health service, including questions related to this policy, we encourage you to contact your insurer directly.
Finally, we want to remind you of your options for paying for your care at DPC. You can 1) pay with cash or credit card at our front desk in the clinic, 2) use the DPC portal to pay with a credit card, or 3) call our front desk with payment information. If you wish, you can provide us with credit card information that we will keep securely on file and use automatically for any charges on your account.
As always, please feel free to contact our front desk or your psychologist with any billing, payment, or policy questions.
